The Polestar 4 SUV-coupé was shown off, with no rear window and 544 horsepower.

The Swedish automaker has tossed its cap in the SUV car ring divulging its most recent model, the Polestar 4, at the Shanghai car expo.

Since SUV coupés will be a thriving market in 2023, there will be plenty of options.

Polestar is the latest brand to join the party, so it comes as no surprise.

With the Polestar 4, the Swedish automaker has entered the fray.

The most recent model, which was unveiled at the Shanghai auto show, joins the 2 and 3 in the lineup.

Described as a "new breed of SUV coupé," the Polestar 4 will not have a body style typical of an SUV.

"With Polestar 4 we have adopted a principal new strategy to SUV roadster configuration," said Polestar President Thomas Ingenlath.

"We have designed Polestar 4 from the ground up as a new breed of SUV coupé that celebrates rear occupant comfort and experience rather than simply modifying an existing SUV by giving it a faster roofline and as a result, compromising elements like rear headroom and comfort," the company stated.

It measures 4,839 mm in length, 2,139 mm in width, and 1,544 mm in height.

More direct, it has a 2,999mm wheelbase, importance there's a sizable amount of room in the back for the tallest of grown-ups.

Dual blade front lights and the recognizable Polestar light bar at the back are two design elements of the Polestar 4.

The glassless rear window, on the other hand, is what stands out the most.

A high-definition screen has replaced the traditional rear view mirror, allowing you to still see what's behind you.
